Frequently Asked Questions

Question: How early do I need to put my child’s name down to attend Leafield House Nursery?

We recommend as soon as possible to secure your place as nurseries can fill up very fast.

Question: How do I book a place for my child?

There are a few options, you can contact the Nursery by telephone or email to arrange a tour of the nursery and complete the paperwork. Alternatively, you can book a place via our online booking form, request a welcome pack and complete the registration form. To secure your place there is an administration fee of £100, this also covers your child’s settling in sessions.

Question: Can my child visit the nursery prior to starting?

We recommend your child attends between 3 to 5 settling-in visits the week before they are due to start.  This enables the children to adapt to their new surroundings and to meet staff and children in the room

Question: What should I/my child bring to nursery?

A change of clothes, including underwear if potty training- Please label. EpiPen or any other type of long-term medicine (if your child has an allergy or medical condition which requires this). Medicine needs to be prescribed and labelled with your child’s name and clear instructions.

Please Bring wellies, raincoats, winter hats/ gloves, sunscreen and summer hats (suitable for the season) to leave at nursery. This enables the children to not miss out on amazing outdoor learning (please ensure everything is clearly labelled).

 Question: Do you have CCTV?

CCTV is located indoors and outdoors. This is here to protect the children and staff of Leafield House Nursery and used for training purposes.

Question: How secure is the nursery?

As well as electric gates, we use a Face ID door entry system; the software only allows designated people entry into the building. Parents may enter using this system via the front of the nursery, they will also have access to their child’s room at designated times. Outside of these times the bell must be buzzed and a member of staff will greet them at the nursery access.

We know starting nursery is a big step for all children as well as their parents/carers, so please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions you may have!
